Privacy Policy

    Last Updated: May 16, 2026

WireDog Technologies, LLC ("WireDog," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and why we designed WireDog to collect as little data as possible.

WireDog is a United States-based VPN provider. All infrastructure, operations, and servers are located exclusively within the United States.

    1. Who We Are

    Legal Entity: WireDog Technologies, LLC

    Privacy Contact: [email protected]

    2. Our Privacy Philosophy

WireDog is built around a strict no-logs philosophy.

    We design our systems to:

    • Minimize data collection by default
    • Avoid collecting information that could identify user activity
    • Ensure that even under valid legal requests, there is very little data available to disclose

We comply with applicable U.S. law. If legally required, we will provide information we actually possess. However, due to our system design, we generally have no activity data to provide and nothing that can be tied to a user's VPN usage.

    3. Information We Do Not Send to Our Servers

WireDog does not send to our servers, log on our infrastructure, or store:

    • Browsing history
    • Websites visited
    • DNS queries
    • Traffic contents
    • Source or destination IP addresses
    • Device identifiers
    • Session-specific activity
    • VPN tunnel payloads

We do not monitor what you do while connected to the VPN.

Note on local logging: Your device may store local application logs for debugging purposes. These logs are stored only on your device and never transmitted to WireDog servers. You can view and delete these logs within the app settings.

    4. Limited Operational Data We Collect

To operate the service reliably, WireDog temporarily processes a minimal amount of non-identifying operational data.

    Temporary Connection Data (Servers)

    We temporarily process:

    • Connection timestamps (when you connect, not what you do)
    • Aggregate bandwidth usage (total bytes served, not per-user)
    • Number of simultaneously connected devices (for capacity management)

    This data:

    • Is not associated with browsing activity
    • Is not attributable to specific online actions
    • Exists only temporarily in system memory (RAM-only)
    • Is automatically discarded on VPN server reboot

    Local Application Data (Your Device)

Your device stores the following data locally only (never sent to servers):

    • Connection Statistics: Real-time bytes sent/received during active VPN sessions; cleared immediately on disconnect
    • Server List Cache: Available servers, their locations, latency, and load information; cached indefinitely and refreshed on-demand
    • VPN Settings: Auto-connect preferences, IPv6 settings, split tunneling configuration; persists until you change them
    • Split Tunneling Configuration: List of apps or IP ranges you've selected for split tunneling; stored locally only and never sent to servers
    • Server Preferences: Your favorite servers, last connected server, server search history; stored locally only
    • Public IP Cache: Your last known public IP address (from ipify.org); cached locally and updated on each connection
    • Location Cache: Your reverse-geocoded city/state (for display only); cached locally and never sent to servers
    • Authentication Token: Stored securely in encrypted device storage; deleted on logout or 30-day expiration

    Application Logs (Your Device)

The application stores logs locally for debugging purposes:

    • Log files are stored on your device only and never transmitted to WireDog servers
    • Maximum 1 MB per file with automatic rotation (oldest entries discarded)
    • Maximum 500 lines per log file
    • You can view logs within the app and share them manually via device sharing
    • You can delete logs anytime through app settings

    5. RAM-Only Infrastructure

WireDog uses RAM-only servers. This means:

    • No persistent storage of VPN activity
    • Data is wiped automatically on reboot
    • No historical logs exist on disk

This architecture ensures that long-term retention of VPN usage data is technically impossible.

    6. Account Information

    Standard Accounts

    For standard accounts, we collect:

    • Email address (for authentication and account recovery)
    • Password (hashed server-side; the app never stores your plaintext password)
    • Referral Code (optional; used to attribute signups to our referral program)

This data is collected for authentication and account management purposes only. Passwords are never stored in plaintext; only a cryptographic hash is retained on our servers.

    Anonymous Accounts

    For anonymous accounts:

    • A randomly generated 16-digit account number is created
    • No email address is required
    • No password is required
    • The account number is your sole authentication credential
    • The account number provides the same full service as standard accounts

Anonymous accounts are designed for users who prefer not to provide an email address. The account number functions as your complete login credential and should be saved securely.

    7. Payment Information

    WireDog offers multiple payment options:

    • Credit/debit cards
    • Cryptocurrency
    • Cash payments via Stripe-supported methods

Payment processing is handled by third-party payment providers (such as Stripe). WireDog does not store full payment card numbers.

For users who wish to avoid stored payment data entirely, cash or cryptocurrency payment options are available.

    8. Third-Party Service Providers

WireDog uses the following third-party services to provide and support our platform:

    Stripe (Payment Processing)

Stripe processes payment information for credit card, cryptocurrency, and bank transfer payments. Data sent to Stripe includes payment method details necessary to process transactions. Stripe does not have access to VPN usage data or any information about your browsing activity. Payment processing is governed by Stripe's privacy policy.

    Public IP & Geolocation Services

WireDog applications query external services to determine your public IP address and city-level location. These services receive only standard HTTP GET requests with no personal identifying information attached. Your public IP and location are cached locally on your device to reduce unnecessary requests. Data is governed by each service's privacy policy.

    Public IP Detection (All Platforms)

    Service: ipify.org
Data sent: HTTP GET request only
    Cache location: Device encrypted storage
    Privacy Policy: ipify.org privacy practices

    Geolocation Lookup (Platform-Specific)

WireDog uses different geolocation services depending on your platform:

    • Android: ipwho.is — provides city/state/country information
    • iOS: ipapi.co — provides city/region/country information

Both services receive only an HTTP GET request with your public IP. Responses are processed locally and cached on your device. City and state/country information is displayed in the app for reference only; this data is never sent to WireDog servers.

These services are subject to their own privacy policies and terms of service. WireDog is not responsible for how third-party providers handle your data. We recommend reviewing their privacy policies before providing information to these services.

    9. Website Data & Cookies

    WireDog does not use:

    • Tracking cookies
    • Analytics tools
    • Advertising pixels
    • Third-party marketing trackers

Our website operates without non-essential cookies. No cookie consent banner is required because we do not engage in tracking.

WireDog complies with valid U.S. legal requests, including subpoenas and court orders.

    However:

    • We can only provide data that we actually have
    • We do not possess browsing activity, VPN usage logs, or identifiable traffic data
    • Any limited operational data we temporarily process is not attributable to user activity

Because of this, legal disclosures typically contain little to no useful information.

    11. Warrant Canary

WireDog publishes a warrant canary to maintain transparency regarding legal requests. Combined with our zero-logs architecture, this ensures that even if we receive legal requests, we have no user activity data to provide.

Our warrant canary will be updated if our legal circumstances change. If the canary is removed or appears abandoned, users should assume we have been prevented from publicly discussing legal requests.

See our Transparency Report for the current warrant canary.

    12. Data Retention & Deletion

WireDog does not retain user activity or browsing data. The following table details retention for all data types we process:

    Data TypeRetention PeriodStorage Location
Authentication TokenUntil logout or 30-day expiryDevice encrypted storage only
Connection Statistics (bytes in/out)During active connection only; cleared on disconnectDevice RAM only
Temporary Server DataUntil server reboot (hours to days)Server RAM only
Server List CacheCached indefinitely; refreshed on-demandDevice storage only
VPN Settings & PreferencesUntil app uninstall or manual deletionDevice storage only
Application LogsRolling 1 MB per file (oldest entries discarded)Device storage only; never sent to servers
Cached Public IP AddressUntil app uninstall or manual deletionDevice encrypted storage only
Cached Location (City/State)Until app uninstall or manual deletionDevice encrypted storage only
Account Information (Standard)Until account terminationServer database (deleted on termination)
Subscription/Plan DataUntil account terminationServer database (deleted on termination)
    Browsing/VPN Activity LogsNever retainedNot applicable

    Key Points:

    • No user activity or browsing data exists to delete because we never log it
    • Most data is stored in RAM or on your device only, never on our servers
    • When you delete your account, all server-side data is permanently removed
    • Device-based data (settings, cache, logs) remains until you uninstall the app or clear it manually
